You will have heard about the new infection has been detected in Wuhan, China
If you have been to Wuhan, China, in the last 14 days and develop ANY of these symptoms, contact a healthcare professional: Cough, Sore Throat, Difficulty breathing, Fever.

We are still offering flu vaccines along with shingles and pneumococcal within practice. Can I remind carers and pregnant ladies that you are entitled to a flu vaccine.

2020 will see us promoting Be Cancer Safe which aims to promote being cancer aware and checking your bodies regularly for changes or worrying aches, pains and lumps. Did you know you can sign up to receive a monthly text message to remind you to “Check Your Boobs”. Its a free service, I got my first text on New Years Day but it did its job, I checked mine immediately.

GP Earnings 2017/2018

NHS England requires that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised on their practice website by 31 March 2019, and the required disclosure is shown below. However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor make any comparison with any other practice.

“All GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Darton Health Centre in the last financial year 2017/18 was £116,846 before Tax and National Insurance. This is for 1 full time GP who worked in the practice for more than six months.”

Your Named GP

All patients are now required to have a ‘named GP’ which means the GP responsible for your care.
As you know at Darton Surgery we have one GP, Dr G Eko but we still need to inform you that he takes lead responsibility for your care.

The regulations surrounding this are, that by March 2016 all practices will need to include on their website the fact that all patients, including children, have been allocated a named GP.
