News from the Practice Manager

 Ready for the summer –

A quarter of the year is gone already and everyone will be making plans for their summer holidays, it is business as usual here in the practice. Plans are underway to start annual reviews for our patients with a chronic disease and we will be calling patients in to monitor their bloods if they are taking special medication and we will always try to fit your appointments around your other commitments.

One change we have now is the controlled drugs can now be ordered for delivery straight to your nominated pharmacy, saving a trip into practice to collect your green prescription. If you don’t have a nominated pharmacy ask in reception. You can have your prescription sent to any pharmacy – one near where you work for example.

If you register for Patient On-line you can order your medication when it is convenient to you either from your phone or computer. Again ask at reception if you want to register to do this

GP Earnings 2017/2018

NHS England requires that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised on their practice website by 31 March 2019, and the required disclosure is shown below. However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor make any comparison with any other practice.

“All GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Darton Health Centre in the last financial year 2017/18 was £116,846 before Tax and National Insurance. This is for 1 full time GP who worked in the practice for more than six months.”

Contacting the surgery about appointments etc

Please note that if you need to contact the surgery urgently about cancelling an appointment etc, you need to ring or call into the surgery.  Do no use the contact us facility for this as this is not monitored all the time and you might be waiting a few days for a reply and your appointment may not be cancelled in time.    Thank you
